Two passengers, Michael Maccarrone, 22, of Miller Place, and Brandon Abad, 21, of Port Jefferson, began fighting on the ferry “Firebird” after it departed Ocean Bay Park at approximately 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, Suffolk County Police said. The two men were restrained by security personnel onboard the vessel, according to police.

Soon after the first incident, another passenger climbed atop a seat on the upper deck and attempted to climb over the safety rail. Jacob McKeown, 22, of Sound Beach, was restrained by a security officer onboard the vessel, said police.

The ferry’s captain called 911 and the boat was met by Marine Bureau and Suffolk County PD Third Precinct officers upon its arrival at the Fire Island Ferry Terminal, located at 104 Maple Avenue, Bay Shore, where the three men were placed under arrest. There were no injuries reported.

Maccarone, Abad and McKeown were charged with disorderly conduct, issued Field Appearance Tickets and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Oct. 31.
